The Champions League qualifiers are not only running for the men’s but also for the ladies’ football team. In its qualifier group the ladies won 3-1 over Slovan on Wednesday and yesterday played against the Moldavian champion Agarista-SS Anenii Noi. Although the match was expected to be somewhat easier, no match in the Champions League is ever actually easy.
Head coach Dörnyei’s team dominated the match and created its first chance by the 10th second. The dominance continued to grow and in the 24th minute we took the lead with an own goal. Later in the first half we doubled the lead by Fogl Katalin. In the second half the match became calmer and our team simply just controlled the match. Although we had chances towards the end as well, the result did not change, we won 2-0.
On Tuesday we play again against Spartak Subotica which match will decide the qualification to the main round.
