Our team achieved a great result last week in Zagreb: the players left the pitch then with 1-1 giving us some advantage for the return match against the more experienced Croatian team. Today in the second leg however this did not help: the opponents scored relatively early again and although we had a very strong last 15 minutes in the first half, all chances were missed, stopped by the goalkeeper or the goalpost.
This was enough for the Croatians to exploit two easy mistakes we made in the beginning of the second half: they extended their lead to 3-0 making our task close to impossible. Then the referee sent off Civic with his second yellow card after a slight foul leaving our team no chance to come back to the game. In the remaining parts we still did not give up and even had chances but the Croatians scored once again and lastly even missed a penalty.
Although this is a painful defeat, we continue in the play-off of the Europa League next week.
