TWO-GOAL WIN AT HOME
Our men's football team beat Kecskemét with goals from Maiga and Zachariassen.

After the 5-0 win against Újpest and the MOL Hungarian Cup qualification against DVSC, our defending Hungarian champions hosted Kecskemét in the 23rd round of the OTP Bank League at Groupama Arena. Dejan Stankovic started the match with Dibusz - Botka, Abena, Cissé, Civic - Ben Romdhane, Maiga, Loncar - Zachariassen, Varga B., Marquinhos.

First half

At the start of the match Barnabás Varga crossed into the middle, but the defence cleared. There were several tough blocks in the first ten minutes of the match, with Helmich the only one to receive a yellow card. In the 11th minute Civic sent in a free kick, Abena was in position but his header went wide. The away team were forced to make a substitution in the 19th minute, with Banó-Szabó coming on for Helmich. In the 29th minute, Varga headed in a cross from Loncar, but Zachariassen could not get a hold of it. Dejan Stankovic wanted to prevent a man down and brought off Ben Romdhane, who was yellow carded previously, and Abu Fani came on for him. In the 43rd minute Maiga's shot was saved by the goalkeeper. In the added time of the first half, Loncar tried a long range effort from a corner: it looked dangerous, but home side reached it. However, from a corner kick, Maiga finished a centre from close range to give us the lead (1-0)!

Second half

The first chance of the second half came in the 53rd minute, Abu Fani shot from an acute angle, saved by Varga. The corner was then cleared by Varga. In the 64th minute Kecskemét equalized but the goal was disallowed for offside. We then doubled our lead by Zachariassen (2-0) which gave us a calming . Afterwards, in the 90th minute Pesics set up Zachariassen but the shot did not reach the goal. At the end of the six minutes of extra time, Kecskemét had a chance from a dangerous free kick, but the attempt went over.

In the end our team collected an important three points at home. The next match will be on Sunday, 10 March, at 15.30 at the Sóstói Stadium in Székesfehérvár against Fehérvár FC.
