WE INCREASED OUR LEAD BY BEATING DVTK
Barnabas Varga's early goal and Sevikjan's first FTC goal kept the three points at home.

After our 34-time Hungarian champion men's football team's win against Paks last Sunday, we hosted DVTK in the postponed 21st round of the OTP Bank League. Dejan Stankovic started with the line-up of Dibusz - Botka, Abena, Cissé, Civic - Maiga, Abu Fani, Loncar - Sevikjan, Varga Barnabás, Marquinhos.

First half

The first kick was taken by the visitors, but they didn't keep the ball for long: in the first minute, Barnabás Varga struck a short ball home and then rolled it into the Diósgyőr net (1-0). In the next quarter of an hour, we dominated mainly, although the opponents also occasionally got into the front of the goal. In the 18th minute, Marquinhos and Abu Fani played together and our Israeli player fell inside the opponent's penalty area. However, the referee did not award a penalty and gave our player a yellow card instead. Nevertheless, we didn't have to wait long for the next Fradi goal: in the 22nd minute, Sevikjan found the target from the right corner of the penalty area and stuck a huge goal into the top right corner (2-0).

In the 31st minute, our opponents also had a chance, Bényei curled a shot from the right wing well wide of the goal. Three minutes later, Sevikyan tried again, this time from the centre, his long-range shot just missing the target. Five minutes before the end of the half, Barnabas Varga got on the end of a cross from the right, but the ball went wide of the left post. Shortly afterwards, Loncar was in position, but his shot was saved by Danilovics.

Second half

In the second half our team threatened first, in the 47th minute Barnabás Varga headed a goal wide. Four minutes later, Marquinhos tried to score, but his long-range shot was wide of the target. In the 56th minute, the visitors manage to close up: Cissé made a bad touch and Vancas took advantage of the mistake to shoot into the net of Dibusz (2-1). In the 67th minute, Klimovics came close to scoring, but Abena could only reach his shot and it hit the crossbar. In the second half, Kodro, Ramírez, Ben Romdhane, Zachariassen and Makreckis also came on for the team.

The scoreline remained unchanged, and we beat DVTK in the postponed 21st round play to extend our lead at the top of the table to 11 points. Our team will next play away at ZTE on Sunday 14 April.
