WE PROGRESSED IN THE CUP
With heroic performance from Zachariassen, Ferencváros progressed in the cup against DVTK.

In the away cup tie, the coaching staff sent the starting line-up of Varga Á. - Botka, Wingo, Cissé, Ramírez - Maiga, Ben Romdhane - Sevikjan, Abu Fani, Zachariassen - Kodro onto the pitch. Our head coach Dejan Stankovic, who was shown the red card on the previous game, followed the match from the stands, with the temporary bench of Nenad Sakic and Leandro de Almeida.

First half

The team, dressed in their classic green and white kit, took the initiative right from the start of the game and in the sixth minute we had our first chance to score, but Zachariassen's shot from a corner was saved by Odyntsov. Six minutes later, Kodro, after a brilliant pass, calmly finished a low pass into the Diósgyőri goal, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside. Ferencváros continued to dominate possession and attack building, and the first real home situation came in the 22nd minute, when Dániel Gera shot from distance, but then the ball bouncing off the block was easily saved by Ádám Varga. Three minutes later, Abu Fani took a shot from distance which was saved by Odyntsov. In the 37th minute, after several loose end attacks, our effort was converted: Abu Fani curled a great cross from the right, Kristoffer Zachariassen, who was inside the penalty area, headed the ball into the DVTK net (0-1). There was no shortage of scenes with fury after the goal, with Dániel Gera and Ramírez clashing in the 42nd minute after a duel, before Maiga clashed with Jurek.

Second half

Neither team made any substitutions at the break. The second half started very well for our team, we doubled our lead in the first minute of the half! Abu Fani dribbled inside the box on the left and Stephen headed a cross from midfield straight to Zachariassen, who headed the ball into the net from six meters (0-2). With a two-goal lead we continued to attack, and in the 52nd minute Sevikian shot just wide. A minute later, a promising shot from the home side was saved by Ádám Varga. In the 58th minute, Ben Romdhane fought out a free kick in a dangerous position, but the defenders cleared after the throw-in. Two minutes later our Tunisian legionnaire threatened again, but Stephen saved from a corner. In the 63rd minute, Zachariassen came close to a hat trick, drawing Sevikian on the right flank and his flat cross was fired into the goalkeeper from 11 meters by the Norwegian. In the 64th minute Diósgyőr made two substitutions, and Gera kicked Zachariassen for a yellow card. In the 69th minute Abu Fani cut in a pass from outside the box just over the goal from Ramírez. In the 70th minute, three substitutions were made, with Barnabas Varga, Traoré and Marquinhos coming on. The home side tried to make the game tight, but our defence, as in the whole match, did a great job.

Thanks to Zachariassen's double and a great team effort, we won 2-0 and progressed to the semi-finals!
